Just about to get divorced. I have 2 children who have their fathers (my soon to be ex husbands) surname. They are 12 and 15 so I still have contact with their schools who obviously call and ask for Mrs _________.. . I dont get on with my father or the family on his side anymore so dont particularly want to change my surname back to my maiden name when I get divorced. My split with my husband is very amicable so its not that I hate his surname and dont want to be associated with him or anything, just that I feel it might make things awkward for any future partners if I am still Mrs_________ if only by name and not on paper!. . How have other female divorcees tackled this?.
