• My practice is dedicated to the needs of families and small businesses. We represent clients in a variety of family law matters such as divorce, paternity, child custody, child support, dependency, surrogacy, adoption, terminations of parental rights, grandparent visitation, fathers’ rights, appeals, alimony, prenuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements, wills and estates, and real estate and property division matters. Ms. James also concentrates her continuing legal education almost solely in the area of family law attending on average 24 hours of continuing legal education each year. I initially wanted to keep my maiden surname - however is it still possible to change surname to your husband's surname if you have been married for over a year? The marriage certificate states my maiden surname, would that pose a problem to changing my surname?. in response to my first answerer - there's nothing fishy abt it at all.. just a girl who wanted to keep her maiden name but realised after a while that actually it might actually be nice to accept her husband's name. thats all. so i'm just researching whether its still possible to do so..
