legal name change after marriage in indiana?
29:9
I am 16 years old. A few years ago, I decided that I'm eventually going to change my last name. The reason for this is that my paternal last name is not my biological last name. My real paternal grandfather died when my grandmother was pregnant with my dad, and when she re-married, my dad's last name was changed to his stepfather's last name, and he never chose to change it back. My uncle (his older brother) changed his own last name back, however.. . I hate having a last name that isn't my own biological identity. I won't say what the exact names are, but the last name I currently have is Greek, while my biological last name is Scottish, and neither myself nor my dad have any Greek blood in us. So that's why I'm going to change my last name to what it should be. My dad has no problem with my decision to do it, by the way.. . I thought that you had to be at least 18 to change your last name, but now I'm not sure if you actually do have to be that old. I want my last name changed ASAP, but what age would that be in the United States? Or, does it differ by state, and if it does, what's the minimum age in Massachusetts to change your last name?.
