Mr. Turteltaub became a partner with Carlin & Ward, P.C. in September 2002. His primary practice areas include condemnation of property by Eminent Domain and Real Estate Tax Appeals. He has represented both governing bodies and private property owners in these types of matters. He has also litigated matters involving zoning and land use, redevelopment, landlord/tenant disputes, brokerage commission claims, title claims, mortgage loan fraud, tax foreclosures and related matters.
Prior to joining Carlin & Ward, Mr. Turteltaub was an associate at Sills, Cummis, Radin, Tischman, Epstein, & Gross, P.C.; Gibbons, Del Deo, Dolan, Griffinger & Vecchione, P.C.; and McKirdy & Riskin, P.A. Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. Turteltaub was employed in the banking industry where he developed financial services and consulted in mergers and acquisitions, asset/liability management, and strategic planning.
Mr. Turteltaub received his Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University in 1992, his Master's degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany in 1986, and his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Emory University in 1982.? He served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Lawrence L. Lasser, then the presiding judge of the New Jersey Tax Court. Mr. Turteltaub is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Taxation Section and an affiliate member of the Appraisal Institute.
Mr. Turteltaub's publications include Property Tax Appeals - Are You Entitled to A Reduction in Assessment? in The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel, March 2002; and Grounds For Mistrial and New Trial in Condemnation Litigation, prepared for the 16th annual ALI-ABA course on Eminent Domain and Land Value Litigation.?He is a course lecturer for continuing education requirements for appraisers in programs approved by the New Jersey Real Estate Appraisal Board.
