• Tashina Harris is an associate at the firm, where she practices in the areas of family law and civil/commercial litigation.Ms. Harris attended George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her J.D., concentrating in Litigation. While attending George Mason, Ms. Harris won First Place in the Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition, served as a Notes Editor on the George Mason Law Review, and was a member of the Trial Advocacy Association. She also worked as a research assistant to Professor Ross E. Davies, gathering statistical data on various Supreme Court Justices for The Green Bag’s Supreme Court Sluggers trading cards. While in college at The University of Mary Washington, where Ms. Harris graduated Summa Cum Laude with her degree in English, Ms. Harris interned at Rappahannock Legal Services in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She also served as a Student Advisor on Mary Washington’s Honor Council, where she advised and represented students accused of honor violations. A Northern Virginia native, Ms. Harris is also involved in the local legal community and is currently a member of the Fairfax Bar Association and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. In her spare time, Ms. Harris enjoys writing and takes dance lessons. She and her husband, Charles, also enjoying traveling and white-water rafting.

Definitely "Dear Ms. Lastname" unless you are quite sure that this person prefers informal address. Since she referred to you by your first name, this *may* be the case, but it's always better to be slightly more formal until you know a person well.. . Don't pay a bit of attention to the person who says that "Ms." is offensive. There are two forms of address in business letters: "Mr." for men and "Ms." for women, unless you have been specifically told that an individual woman prefers some other form of address.
