  • Chuck Jacobs is a Denver native; he graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, New York, and spent the following year teaching legal research, analysis and writing at the Indiana University Law School in Bloomington. That experience led to an interest in education and, ultimately, to three additional years of teaching at the only four-year paralegal program in Colorado.

Mr. Jacobs served as law clerk to the Honorable O. Hatfield Chilson, United States District Judge for the District of Colorado. Judge Chilson was a former Undersecretary of the Interior in the Eisenhower Administration. He provided Mr. Jacobs with incomparable experience and the benefit of his great wisdom and legal perspective.

Mr. Jacobs began his private practice as a litigation associate for a large Denver commercial law firm, following which he began his own general practice in 1978. He was a founding member of Doyle, Biesterfeld, Bourke & Jacobs, later Bourke Jacobs Luber, PC. While engaged in practice, Mr. Jacobs also obtained a Master of Laws Degree in Taxation from the University of Denver Law School Graduate Tax Program. More recently, Mr. Jacobs completed a 40-hour course in mediation and has initiated a mediation practice as a compliment to his other practice areas.

Mr. Jacobs has provided public and professional service as chairman of a Colorado Bar Association committee, as president of his religious congregation, and as a member of the community advisory board to Colorado Public Radio (KCFR). More recently, Mr. Jacobs served as a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Colorado at Denver School of Business. He is the board chairman of Seeking Common Ground, a global peace organization whose Building Bridges For Peace program has achieved international recognition.? He also recently accepted an invitation to become a Steering Committee member of The Abraham Initative, a local organization whose goals are to promote dialogue and understanding among the Abrahamic religions.

Since 1973, Mr. Jacobs has been engaged in the general practice of law with emphasis on commercial litigation, real estate, estate planning and administration, tax planning, and mergers and acquisitions. He represents such diverse clientele as high-tech public companies, general corporate clients, real estate investors and developers, estates, trusts and individual with multifaceted needs.

Mr. Jacobs’ extensive educational background, his experience as a legal educator, his community involvement, and his diverse range of clients make him a valuable resource for the other members and associates of the firm in their efforts to provide quality, creative and cost effective services to firm clients.
