Clinton and Obama's plans are close to the same. I'm going to try and answer your question without being biased BUT I will tell you that I am against the idea before hand. . Universal health care would be good because it would provide health care to literally everyone you know. It's wonderful to think about really.. . But there has to be a reality check. First off, it will be costly (a lot more will come out of your paycheck because you aren't only paying for yourself but for those who don't work at all as well). If you already think too much is taken out of your paycheck then get used to seeing less of your money with this plan. The reason health care is in such a mess now is because the insurance companies are being regulated more and more by the government which means they owe more to the government and have to charge more for their coverage. The government has taken away the idea of free market for health insurance. Health care is also so expensive because there are people who just simply aren't even trying to pay their medical bills. Money mismanagement. Which means that those who can and will pay their bills (because they won't let themselves go into debt) end up covering for those who won't pay their debts. It is also important to mention the fact that doctors, nurses, people in the medical field will be over worked and underpaid. I know that there are a lot of jobs already like that but these people went to school for a long time and rightfully earn the money they make. I personally think nurses are still underpaid. And I can't forget to mention the part about the length of time you may have to wait for a pressing health situation. If you have found a lump and think it may be cancer... good luck getting to the point where you have an answer. The process will be prolonged. . I have read many reports on Canada and Europe's health care systems and the stats don't help the case for universal health care. . I hope that helped some. I know it was a lot of "biased" ideas but it is what I legitimately found. I really love the idea of everyone being happy and healthy but my rational thoughts take over on this one.
