Writing a good collections letter - please help.?

Financial Planning is a very competitive and sales oriented position. It seems opposite to nursing except one aspect, you could help people invest their money wisely. Unfortunately, much of financial planning (stocks/bonds/investments) is about commission more than helping people. Check out the movies "Boiler Room" or "Wall Street" for examples - they're dramatized, but I think much of the underlying points of the movies apply to the real world.

Your covering letter should briefly address the employer specifically

A bit over a year ago, my mother had a major heart operation. She also is on a walker, has fallen alone before, and I help with shopping, doing things around the house, and in general. I think the next step for her would be an assisted or independent living facility. She also has persistent coughing problems which are indicative of heart failure, which she still has but is coping with with medication. She is in poor health, but does not yet require a nurse.
