What is the difference between a private and a public health care system in Canada?. . What are the advantages and disadvantages of public and private health care?.

Actually, you are the 'owner' of your blood and tissue, unless you sign a consent form which specifically allows the institution in question to retain the specimen for research purposes. In that case, you sign away all rights to future benefit or control of your sample. When you sign the consent for admission form to be hospitalized (or your healthcare proxy or parent does for minors) then there is usually a clause in that consent which waives your right to tissues. . Blood samples are not indefinitely stable, and most phlebotomy samples are routinely destroyed after a specified period of time, as labs have limited space for storage of such samples. Pathology specimens of tissues, especially those of tumors or others which have been excised and sectioned for staining or examination, may be kept for years. Usually, they are used to teach other pathologists about disease states. . As for your amputated limb, you can specifically request that it be returned to you for burial or cremation (as some religions specify the whole body must be present at the time of burial). Most amputated limbs are sent to a crematoria (which some hospitals have on site or they may contract out this service) if the patient does not want it back. Hospitals don't resell these for profit. They also cannot sell your saliva, blood or other bodily tissues without your consent. But again, look at that surgical or admission consent, and you'd be surprised by what rights you may be signing away. . Oh, and transplantation of any of your tissue cannot be done without your specific consent, or that of your family, if you happened to be brain dead and are being considered for organ or tissue donation. . Most amputated limbs are 'sick' and diseased and are not suitable for transplantation anyway.

of whom ye say, that he is your God: John 8:54.

Now the tricky part...The mother's brother (uncle) is now power of attorney. Not the normal one page form but 10 pages, covering anything imaginable and some. Uncle is threatening to press charges if the close daughter doesn't stop being a part of her mother's life. Can he, as agent have charges brought against the daughter even though the money was taken prior to uncle becoming the agent? (1-2 mos.). . I can't believe what has happened. Mother was of the notion that a trust was being set up. Sister has not had the same relationship over the 30+ years and is now somehow convining the agent to make up for favored past of close daughter, with his control and mother's money.
