  • Following nearly nine years of service in the United States Armed Forces, including service in the Air Force Intelligence Service and the Coast Guard as a weapons controller, Mark graduated from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in December, 1992. Since graduation, he has distinguished himself as a public defender (4 years) and in private practice (9+ years). During that time, he has successfully conducted numerous DUI motion hearings and jury trials, including getting across-the-board "not guilty" verdicts in a case where his client was charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding, reckless operation, speeding (105mph in a 60mph zone), and failure to wear a seatbelt.

In December 1994, he received the student certification in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) "Standardized Field Sobriety Testing" (SFST) course. In September 1997, after attending a four-day course, he received NHTSA's instructor certification status in SFST. He has testified as an expert witness on the proper administration and grading of SFSTs in DUI trials in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. He has also become a fixture as a lecturer at the yearly Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (OACDL) Advanced DUI seminars, as well as a speaker at DUI seminars in Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, and Arkansas. Mark was also the appointed inaugural chairman of the OACDL's DUI Defense Task Force.

I have a few questions about the meps process.. I'm 21 when i was 15 i had my first panic attack then at 17 i had another one both i went to the hospital for about 2 hours to calm down. they came from no where, they just happened.. I went on zoloft 2 separate times for about 2 months each and felt no change in my body or anything so i stopped taking them. my doctor said he thinks i might have GAD (generalized anxiety disorder). He said this back in i think 07. my only thing is i haven't been on any meds in like 5 years and im doing fine, i worry but only about STD's that's my fear not a fear of dying just a fear of them. I work well in stressful areas and i no longer have anxiety attack/ panic attacks which when i did have them they were far and few between. Now im stressed because my recruiter told me to say no to anything on the meps questionnaire because if i said yes i would have to provide documentation, which i have none of. I want to be honest because say i did pass meps then went into the military and pretty much anything happened and they find out i once did have a anxiety problem or that it happened i loose everything Ive worked for. but my question is pretty much what do i do. I'm not risking anyone's lives im looking to join the national guard for air craft structural repair or light wheeled vehicle mechanic . I want to join the military really bad and serve my country but no one is perfect and have problems, and when i was younger i had some girlfriend problems and my grandparents made me see a therapist which was unneeded that guy really didn't do anything for me. i believe i am fine an i know its not up to me to be the judge of that but what should i do....answer no or answer yes and risk being disqualified.
