Today my employment contract was terminated with immediate effect for underperforming and unsatisfactory performance. I am in month 4 of my 6 month probation. I am close to leaving anyway as i am close to securing a new job and i am just awaiting my new contract to sign. I am worried however that my employer will give me a bad reference. I asked HR what about my reference and she said they will just send a standard template confirming empoyment and the dates i was employed to. Is this going to be a problem with my new employer if they decide to hire me? Also if they do it will be in a couple of weeks which will mean the date i stopped working and they date i started my new job will have a couple of weeks where i am unemployed. I am really really worried as i have just got a mortgage and due to move in 3 weeks. Someone please advise me.
