    I am a retiree (married with two children 28 and 26). We are thinking about setting up an A-B trust. I understand that upon the death of first spouse a certain amount from his share of the estate can be placed in trust B which becomes an irrevocable trust and has to file its on income tax return on 1041. If the trust earns capital gains and distributes them all to beneficiaries, do the beneficiaries pay capital gains tax on that distribution or regular income tax. Also does the trust have to pay any taxes on 1041 in this scenario.. Thanks much for your help..

    We put a bid on a foreclosed home that has been listed with a real estate agent. We got a letter from our lender stating that we were pre-qualified and submitted it with our bid. Our bid was accepted. We signed the contract and were waiting for the bank who owns the house to sign off. We got a call from our realtor stating that the bank (that owns the property) said that our letter was sufficient and that they needed a more detailed on. Do you think they will end up backing out or does this sound like they will honor our bid once we have jumped through the hoops that they require?.
