  • Phoenix Divorce Lawyer and Former Public Defender

For as long as she can remember, Amy Dohrendorf has wanted to be an attorney. During her childhood, she constantly engaged her parents in spirited debates over anything from current events to her curfew and why should shouldn't be forced to eat fish for dinner. As a graduation present, her father gave her a framed newspaper clipping that read, "It wasn't anything you did or didn't do as parents. I was born to be a lawyer." What was it that motivated Amy to practice in the field of family law? She actually has her own personal experiences with the subject.

    Relying on Over-Preparation & Compassion

Amy's parents divorced, though she was fortunate in the respect that they carried out their divorce civilly and amicably. Consequently, she and her brother were not subjected to unnecessary emotional upset and stress, and they made it through the experience as well-adjusted individuals. A major part of Amy's motivation to work as a Phoenix divorce attorney was that she wanted to help other families achieve similarly positive outcomes. A judge under whom she served made it a point to stress the necessity of knowing cases inside and out because he had personally seen far too many attorneys show up at the courtroom unprepared to effectively represent their clients. Taking this advice to heart, Amy errs on the side of over-preparation, going out of her way to ensure the best possible results for her clients.

Her dedication to success in the courtroom may mean that Amy is a workaholic, but she doesn't let her professional life consume all of her time. She manages to stay active physically, keeping up the habits she learned while playing four sports in high school and still maintaining her honor-student status. Whenever possible, she heads to the mountains to carve up the slopes on her skis. She also spends time training with the Boot Camp Babes, a team with whom she participated in the Susan G. Komen three-day walk to raise money for breast cancer research. Together, Amy and her team raised more than $80,000 to support the cause.

Amy completed her undergraduate education with a bachelor of science degree in communications at Northern Arizona University, where she graduated cum laude. Next, she received her juris doctor at the University of Denver, being recognized with inclusion in the dean's list and the Harold C. Lawson Memorial Law Scholarship. Prior to joining the team at the Law Offices of Scott David Stewart, Amy worked for three years as a deputy public defender in the Maricopa County Public Defender's Office, followed by two years in private family law practice. Outside of her time at the office or in the courtroom, Amy confesses to two obsessions: the Phoenix Suns and Starbucks. She is constantly following the Suns throughout the season and has ordered a venti unsweetened iced coffee every morning for the past four years.

Ok i have changed my name by deed poll and need to get a new passport only to be told i need a news paper publication from nigeria, has anyone done this, how do i go about it. thanks.

Enclosure.

i need help with writing a cover letter for a job?

Yes. Your cover letter must be specific to the company and position you are applying to. The only exception would be if you are applying for the exact job title from multiple companies, for example, executive assistant. Then, maybe (and i mean MAYBE) you can get away with it. You should also tailor your resume for each position you are applying to as well. For example if you are applying for a banking job you probably don't want to list the job you had at McDonald's.

First Paragraph. The first paragraph of the reference letter explains your connection to the person you are recommending, including how you know them, and why you are qualified to write a reference letter to recommend employment or graduate school.. . Second Paragraph . The second paragraph of the reference letter contains specific information on the person you are writing about, including why they are qualified, what they can contribute, and why you are providing a reference letter. If necessary, use more than one paragraph to provide details.. . Third Paragraph. When writing a specific letter referring a candidate for a particular job opening, the reference letter will include information on how the person's skills match the position they are applying for. Ask for a copy of the job posting and a copy of the person's resume so you can target your reference letter accordingly.
