  • Kristin P. Fredrick joined Schott, Bublitz & Engel, s.c. upon her graduation from Marquette University Law School in 1999. In her practice Ms. Fredrick advises both individuals and? businesses in a broad range of civil and criminal litigation matters involving both state and federal laws. She represents clients before administrative and regulatory agencies, as well as all state and federal courts in Wisconsin and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. As a trial attorney, Ms.Fredrick represents clients in commercial, civil, criminal and appellate matters through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation.

    Ms. Fredrick regularly advises and represents corporations and business owners in various disputes regarding contracts, shareholder disputes, criminal matters and employment issues. Additionally, Ms. Fredrick represents individuals, contractors, developers and property owners in a variety of real estate related matters including real estate transactions, construction disputes, and leasing and landlord/tenant issues.

    As part of her litigation practice, Ms. Fredrick also counsels individuals and families on educational, disability and general school law matters under the ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Ms. Fredrick advises clients in special education matters, including representing families in obtaining free and appropriate educational services from schools, and actively participating in mediation and due process hearings. Ms. Fredrick not only represents both regular and special needs students in disciplinary and expulsion proceedings at the school level, but she also defends the rights of individuals before juvenile, municipal and criminal state courts.

    Over the years, Ms. Fredrick has been a presenter and speaker on special education matters and has contributed to legal publications of the State Bar of Wisconsin, including co-authoring the criminal law chapter of the Annual Survey of Wisconsin Law. Notably, she has been selected by her peers as a "Rising Star" honoring the top 2.5% of Wisconsin lawyers under the age of 40 (2008 & 2009) as published in Wisconsin Super Lawyers Magazine and Milwaukee Magazine.
