Business Letters - Does my business letter sound formal in tone?

So, I need to write brief letter explaining why I am requesting to extend in the program. I wrote this, but I know it looks horrible, could you please give me any feedback or suggestions on this:. (I need to extend beyond three years of my masters in the *** program as I went through personal problems that my supervisor familiar with. Such problems unabled me to complete during the permitted time for completion. I hope you understand this).

I have just received a verbal warning at work and would like to appeal against it ASAP. I have no idea how I would write the letter! Any answers would be much appreciated!! Thank You.

Astrology is fatalistic to one degree or another. It is not and never has been 100% fatalistic, although there are 100% fatalistic astrologers. There is no point in prediction if you can't avoid the consequences of fate. Contemporary astrologers like to claim that modern psychological astrology is not fatalistic, but delineating personality from an astrological chart is just as fatalistic as delineating the number of children you will have or how long you will live. The emphasis is changed is all. And how this is different from delineating a personality from an ink blot or an MMPI or other psychological tests is beyond me.. . We cannot logically deny fate. People born with congenital diseases are fated to live a certain way. People born into poverty are fated to live a certain way and in the vast majority of cases they learn a particular viewpoint. Schopenhauer said "Man has a free will, just not the will to use it." Couple that with a remark by a man whose name escapes me: "Poverty is not just having little money. It's a state of mind.". . He's right. A man can be born into poverty and inherit a worldview as a result and never get out. Or he can inherit a different worldview in the same state and work his way out. He is exercising his free will. Those who choose to stay impoverished (barring serious physical or mental impairment) are the ones Schopenhauer had in mind. We can argue endlessly if either is exercising free will.

Application in writing means a written --- hand written or typed or printed or a photo copy letter that contain essential data like your personal information, academic qualifications, experience details, and a brief explanation how you will be useful for the job and the company or establishment you are applying for.. . Hand written or typed application should be so impressive in presentation, in addition to the language, so that you will receive the interview call, if not the appointment letter.. . "Application in writing" had been the standard format in yester years before the phone-in interviews and e-mail or electronic applications became popular

If the teacher prefers to type rather than to hand write on the form, then hopefully he will follow the exact format and answer the questions that they ask, in the order that they ask them so that those reading the typed document can easily see that his statements correspond to their prompts.. . In the past, I have typed my responses for student teacher evaluations, cut apart my printout, taped each response on the form in the allotted space, and then photocopied it so it looks like I typed on the form but without the writing lines.
