How binding is a verbal contract that was willingly entered into between two parties of legal age? What happens if one half of the party breaks that verbal contract and takes back what is promised? Can legal action be sought out if the other half of the party was counting on what was promised?. . Example: A large company promised a person a job, moved them into their town and got them set up in an apartment, even giving the landlord a confirmed start date. Both required tests were passed with flying colors, until a 3rd test (that no one else seemed to have to take) that was never mentioned shows up and has to be done. The 3rd test is not passed and the company denies the person their job, thusly breaking the verbal contract and agreement that had been made..
