You need to go to the recorder's office in the county where you got married and get a certified copy of your marriage license - this will have the stamp on it. DMV didn't accept it because it wasn't a legal document, and you also have to change your name with social security which also needs a legal/certified copy. Your husband's name didn't get changed so the DMV didn't even need it for him. I don't know if 10 years is too long to have it changed by those two methods alone, or if you have to file through the courts for a legal name change now - you'll have to check with them.

I do not have a W-2 from one of my employers. How do I handle this with the IRS? I know my income, but not Federal or State withholding.. . I am looking through my files and have requested it.. . Thanks.
