    Jennifer Salvatore is a shareholder at Nacht, Roumel, Salvatore, Blanchard & Walker, PC (NachtLaw), where she practices in the areas of employment, civil rights, constitutional and commercial litigation. Jennifer specializes in gender discrimination cases and civil rights issues involving law enforcement; she also represents executives and other professionals in employment and contract disputes. Jennifer has a successful track record as a trial attorney, including achieving a seven-figure verdict in the Western District of Michigan in 2012 in a First Amendment retaliation case on behalf of a woman who was arrested after she reported a sexual assault by a police officer.

    Jennifer is also interested in children's rights issues, and currently serves as co-counsel in two class action cases in Michigan, one involving the rights of schoolchildren to a basic adequate education in Michigan public schools and one involving the rights of youthful prisoners in the Michigan Department of Corrections to be free of sexual assault and other abuse while incarcerated.

    Prior to working at NachtLaw, Jennifer worked in the litigation department at Jenner & Block, LLP in Chicago, where her practice focused on complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts for Fortune 500 companies.

    While in Chicago, Jennifer was the first recipient of a prestigious two-year fellowship for public interest lawyers at Business & Professional People for the Public Interest ("BPI"), a nationally prominent law and policy center. At BPI, she worked on education reform and public housing issues.

    Jennifer has served as the President of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (Washtenaw County) and as Chair of the Gender Equity Committee for WLAM, statewide. In that role, she worked on legislative initiatives around pay equity issues. Jennifer also serves on the leadership council for the Labor and Employment section of the State bar of Michigan. She has been named a "Michigan Rising Star" and a Super Lawyer by Michigan Super Lawyers, and in 2013 was also named by Michigan Super Lawyers as one of the top 50 women lawyers as well as one of the top 25 women business lawyers in the state of Michigan. She has received the Jean King Leadership Award and the Mary Foster Award for leadership in the profession from WLAM and the Ann Dee Harper Memorial Award from the National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago. Jennifer has served on the Board of Directors of the Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan, the Personnel Committee for Safe House Center in Ann Arbor, and is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation.

    Jennifer has spoken numerous times for the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Section, the State Bar of Michigan, the Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the National Employment Lawyers Association and other groups. She has also lectured at Miami University, the University of Michigan, and in the trial advocacy program at the University of Chicago Law School. She is a member of the Bars of the states of Michigan and Illinois, the 6th and 7th Circuit Courts of Appeal, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and the Northern District of Illinois.

She received her J.D., cum laude, from The University of Michigan Law School, where she was a finalist in the Campbell Moot Court Competition and an editor on the Journal of Gender & The Law and The Journal of Law Reform.
