• John A. Shea has been the managing partner of Lian Zarrow since September 2007. He was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1987, in the U.S. District Court in 1988 and in the U. S. Supreme Court in 1995.

  One focus of John’s practice is family law including divorce; custody; and support, removal, modification and contempt actions. He is trained as a divorce mediator and mediates in all areas of family law.

  A second focus is probate and civil litigation. John has tried contested probate matters, including contested wills and actions regarding matters in equity and probate accountings; and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation including in jury trials.

  A third focus is real-estate law. John represents buyers, sellers and lenders in commercial and residential real estate transactions. He has experience in zoning and municipal law, and represents individuals and businesses in a variety of contexts including administrative-law hearings and before local and state agencies. He handles the purchase and sale of businesses.
