  • Personal Injury Law Firm Serving Winston-Salem

Maynard & Harris Attorneys at Law, PLLC is a Winston-Salem law firm working exclusively in personal injury and workers' compensation. We help only people who have been injured and their families, never insurance companies or other powerful defendants.

    Our Attorneys

A chief asset of Maynard & Harris, Attorneys at Law, PLLC is the experience of our lawyers. C. Douglas Maynard, Jr. has worked as a personal injury lawyer for more than 14 years, and Celeste M. Harris has nearly 16 years of experience. In their 30 combined years of practice, our lawyers have successfully handled hundreds of cases for people throughout Winston-Salem and surrounding areas of North Carolina.

Before becoming lawyers, both our lawyers worked in fields that have great significance to their current practice. Douglas Maynard was an insurance adjuster, and now uses his in-depth knowledge of insurance law to represent policyholders involved in insurance disputes. Celeste M. Harris worked as a registered nurse and now uses her medical knowledge to help injured people get the money they need to pay for medical bills, future treatment, and other expenses after a serious injury or catastrophic injury.

Our attorneys are very involved in their cases. We are not a law firm that takes in many cases and then gives clients very little time with their lawyers -- we are a small, client-centered firm offering plenty of hands-on attention from experienced attorneys.

    Our Staff

We have a caring staff of four legal assistants who manage cases on a daily basis and are available to answer questions about the progress of an individual case. Bridget, Jeannie, Melanie and Debby work very closely with the attorneys to keep cases moving smoothly and efficiently through the legal process. Combined, they have more than 60 years of legal experience.

Bridget, Melanie and Jeannie are experienced certified paralegals, with many years of experience. Melanie has a comparable level of experience and is active in paralegal associations. Debby, who grew up in Mexico, is fluent in Spanish and English and works primarily with our Spanish-speaking clients.

In addition to our four legal assistants, Jo answers our calls and greets our clients in addition to her many other responsibilities assisting the attorneys and staff.

    Our Commitment to the Community

At Maynard & Harris, Attorneys at Law, PLLC, we believe very strongly in community service. Our attorneys are very involved in legal organizations that give back to the community, including the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American Association of Justice (formerly known as ATLA), the North Carolina Bar Association, the Workers Injury Law and Advocacy Group, and many women's law groups and boards of legal aid.

We also do many things outside of handling cases. Douglas and Celeste are highly sought after speakers, and have led many seminars on the subjects of insurance law, workers' compensation law and medical records. Our attorneys use their legal experience to advise nonprofit agencies and sit on community boards including Legal Aid of North Carolina, local school PTA board, and Piedmont Wind Symphony. See our Community Education page for more information.

    Contact Us

To learn more about our firm, or to schedule a free consultation about a personal injury or workers' compensation case, contact us. We take all cases on contingency, meaning that we charge no attorneys' fees until a settlement or verdict is won.

Copying terms and conditions from a competitor is common but far from legal. There's a link to a European Court Case in my article on 5 ways to create terms and conditions, below.. . If the competitor terms are both similar then they have probably copied them from another company or have been obtained from a dodgy template site. Trouble is, how do you know they will work when you need to rely on them most?. . Best Regards

What good is Universal Health Care if we are all wearing burkas and no one can see my hot healthy self?

Below is a sample of a cover letter I have used. I have a friend that is an HR Director for a major company and she passed it on to me. I envision myself working for NAME CO. because I believe that it will...). . 2nd para. - I create a 2 column table the first heading YOU REQUIRE the second heading I HAVE list in the table below the heading the job requirement they want (eg. high school diploma/GED, customer service experience, etc) in the cooresponding column I have you will type what you have (eg. Bachelor degree, 6 yrs. customer service experience, etc.).. . 3rd para. - short summary of why they need to hire you. You ARE the ONE for THIS job.! (eg.
