• Ambassador Robert M. Kimmitt advises clients on issues spanning public policy, national security law, international investment, regulation and governance. Both in government and the private sector, he has held a wide variety of senior positions at the intersection of international business, finance, law and policy. Ambassador Kimmitt originally joined the firm in 1997 and rejoined in 2009 after serving as Deputy Secretary of the US Department of the Treasury. He serves as co-chair of the Strategic Response Group.

  From 2009-2012, Ambassador Kimmitt chaired the Deloitte Center for Cross-Border Investment, which provided strategic advice on the execution of cross-border acquisitions and divestitures. From 2005-2009, he served as Deputy Secretary of the US Treasury, where he had significant responsibility for the Department's international agenda, including cross-border investment in his leadership role on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

  As a partner at the firm from 1997 to 2000, Ambassador Kimmitt focused on international transactions in regulated industries, primarily in the areas of defense, aerospace, telecommunications and banking.

  Prior to joining the firm, he served as American Ambassador to Germany (1991-1993), Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs (1989-1991), General Counsel to the Department of the Treasury (1985-1987), and Executive Secretary and General Counsel of the National Security Council at the White House (1983-1985).

  In addition to his government service, Ambassador Kimmitt was Vice Chairman and President of Commerce One, a software company headquartered in the San Francisco Bay area. He also served as Executive Vice President for Global Public Policy (2001-2005) at Time Warner Inc.

  Ambassador Kimmitt has authored many articles, including "Public Footprints in Private Markets," a seminal look at Sovereign Wealth Funds that was published in Foreign Affairs magazine.

Instructions. . 1. . Obtain the legal name change documents. You can secure the proper forms from your county's Superior Court. Visit the Court's website to determine if the form is available for download. The packet of documents will include a general set of instructions, details of where to obtain a criminal record check at the Court, a name change petition template, a form to be used as a notice of your intent and two affidavit of character forms.. 2. . Post the notice of intent. To complete the name change, you are required to post a public notice indicating your intentions. Complete the notice change form and have it date stamped by the office indicated on your general set of instructions. Your instructions or the county clerk will also tell you where to post the notice. The notice must appear publicly for at least 10 calendar days.. 3. . Request a criminal background check. This is required to ensure that you are not changing your name to avoid the law or legal penalties for which you are responsible. If the name change is for a child less than 16 years old, a criminal background check is not required.. 4. . Obtain notarized affidavits of character. Complete the necessary portions of the affidavits in your name change packet and then provide the form to two other people. The individuals who vouch for your good character cannot be family members. The form must be notarized by a Notary Public.. 5. . Submit the necessary forms. Schedule a time to visit the county clerk to deliver your petition to change your name and the notarized affidavits. Once your forms are reviewed by the clerk, you will be given an Order and Certificate of Name Change to complete during the visit and pay applicable fees. If the county clerk accepts your petition, you will be issued a certificate stating the name change in the mail.

I'm applying for a clinical secretary course (followed by a job) and it requires a letter of recommendation and a cover letter.. so I would like to write a really good one. I haven't written a paper in a few years since Ive been out of school. A little help would be greatly appreciated!.

A covering letter should be used when applying for a position. Whilst a CV persay does not NEED a covering letter, it is always helpful to include one. This should be direct and to the point, detailing out why you feel you are right for the job advertised, using examples from your CV of experience that matches what it is that they are looking for.
