• Hartmann Young is a partner in Perkins Coie LLP's Government Contracts practice. He provides a variety of legal services to aerospace, defense and security contractors, spanning from litigation to investigations to counseling. In the litigation context, Hartmann focuses on government contracts litigation, including subcontractor disputes, False Claims Act cases, and intellectual property litigation in the Court of Federal Claims. He also provides representation in bid protest cases, suspension and debarment matters, and in connection with claims preparation. His investigation work includes internal investigations into alleged faulty manufacturing practices, cost reporting issues, and procurement integrity issues, as well as determining whether mandatory disclosures are required. He also assists companies in responding to congressional and other government subpoenas and investigations. In the counseling arena, he provides a broad range of compliance counseling, and provides advice concerning technical data rights, cybersecurity, and anti-corruption. im returning to the states in a few days from afghainstan, but my car registration has been expired for a couple of months. the entire deployment the car has been in the care of a friend and hasnt been driven. my girlfriend is going to arrive in north carolina for my homecoming tomorrow and im wondering if she will be able to take care of renewing my car's registration before i get back. the car is registered in north carolina, and she doesnt have a power of attorney or anything. ive heard some states require it and some don't. any help would be greatly appreciated! and if youre just going to answer "you should have made sure it was up to date," screw you, ive been in afghanistan since May and my car registration was the last thing on my mind.. . anyway, thanks for reading!.
