Under contract law verbal agreements normally meet the requirements and are binding. However I would walk away from this deal. Things done "under the table" are done that way because someone has something to hide. It sounds like he is not allowed to sublet the place! I bet if you insisted on a written contract he would run away as fast as he could.

No lawyer is necessary. Just have them sign something agreeing to let you use their image, copy it, and distribute it. Mention in it that they waive their rights to receiving royalties. There are probably form contracts on the internet.

I'm guessing you can't afford a lawyer. I would have thought a power of attorney could be revoked by you at any time. Maybe ask for the kids back and if the grand parents won't give them back, talk to the police about making a report. They might be able to help you if you can't afford to go to court.. . Another thing, just ask for the kids for a while - don't say how long, but then don't give them back unless they get a court order. A power of attorney doesn't overrule you.

long does this usualy take after the first letter the 40 days have gone with only last years statements recieved and two standard letters have been trying to call the bank concerened since i sent my first letter approx 6 times a day and holding on for 20 mins each time can anybody give me some advice please thank you.
