  • Jerome Fishkin and Lindsay Kohut Slatter defend attorneys facing State Bar discipline, act as expert witnesses regarding attorney conduct, and provide ethics advice to lawyers and law firms in San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Walnut Creek and throughout California.

Jerome Fishkin began his general practice in 1971 and has appeared in nearly every courthouse in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, from the old Justice and Municipal Courts all the way to the Ninth Circuit. He represented clients in administrative hearings, civil, juvenile and criminal cases. In 1978, he became employed as a research attorney with the State Bar of California and became a prosecutor of disciplinary cases in 1983. He was senior prosecutor when he left the Bar in 1992 to open his own law practice, specializing in attorney ethics.

Lindsay Kohut Slatter began practicing law in 1976, as a plaintiff's attorney in Los Angeles. In 1980, she began practicing adoption law. Since 1990, she too, has specialized in attorney professional responsibility and attorney discipline.

In 1994, Lindsay Kohut Slatter became a contract attorney for Jerome Fishkin. They became of counsel in 2004.

We now focus on advising and representing other attorneys. In addition to State Bar discipline defense, we advise clients on all sorts of ethics and practice issues. We have been designated often as expert witnesses in litigation involving attorney duties. In addition, we continue to lecture at MCLE classes and write practical ethics articles for various attorney magazines.

Should you write a cover letter for a temporary job application?

As you can see, it is very important to arrange for the annual drafting of these Crummey letters. Some banks' trust departments used to provide this service if they were the trustee of the trust. This was just a courtesy as they never would see or manage any of the life insurance proceeds.

If you are in the UK, that sounds like a scam?. . A Deed Poll is simple (free) form that you sign in front of witnesses.. That's it.. . You then send copies to places that need to know of the name change, like your bank, the DVLA, HMRC, the Passport office etc.. . You can download the form, it costs nothing.. See the link for an example of a free form.. . Anyone who sells you a 'deed poll' is charging you to write your name for you....
