estate planning

I loaned $100K as a short term personal loan. It turned into a long term loan. For the past six years he has made monthly payment and they as well as the loan is well documented. Two months ago he told me he was going to sell property abroad to pay off this debt. While there, selling the land he died a month ago, and the land sale was not complete - He lived in a community state and I have been told by the mother the land was gifted to him and his wife from his mother. I've been told by another family member they can't find any documents about a will life insurance etc. and the sale of the land fell through. I've also been told by another family member that the deal didn't fall through and they are trying to get another family member to complete the transaction.. . I'd like to know what is the smart course moving forward - do I mail a bill to the deceased and let the executor get it, or take the time to identify the executor and lawyer, if any to file a formal debt request, or if I can't get an answer do I file a small claims suite against the family members or wife whom does not respond to my request to communicate to demand the release of information or do I just go after the wife..

If this were a US soldier.. there would be a spousal or housing allowance that the spouse would have access to. If there is trouble getting that access, address the issue with the nearest base chaplain. The US military pays spousal, housing and child support to their employees who have families and they will help the spouse receive the amount due them. Court, lawyers and expense is not usually needed. It's always a surprise when spouses don't know these facts. Very nice of the landlord to lower the back rent required!

Hi :). Can you tell me which MS word you are using?. . I know with 2007 Word you can go . >Review tab. >Protect Document tab. >Restrict formatting and editing. . You'll get a choice of restriction to pick from then . >Yes start enforcing restriction. >you'll be asked to give a password. . and you're done!. you cannot alter the template or document after this unless you go back in...then you'll be asked for the password and you can have the choice to "turn off " the restriction by going back to the Protect document tab..... . Hope it's what you're looking for.... . *edit for following

It really depends on the job. If it's a professional, full-time, career-type, set salary job then you should always include a cover letter.

That's a tricky situation- did you read everything in the release form? How are they going to use your pictures? Did it give them the rights to sell your pictures without you profiting from it? Did you agree to the terms of the release forms? If you didn't pay to get your pictures done by this guy- then he probaly feels likes he's entitled to the rights of your pictures. Since most people who actually pay someone for them. So in turn signing the release forms is a type of payment for the pictures. If you are uneasy about this maybe you should have not sign the forms and tell him to distroy the pictures.
