• Lawrence Klitzman has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1980 and the New Jersey Bar since 1981. He is a graduate of Brandeis University (undergraduate) and University of Miami School of Law (J.D. 1980). Mr. Klitzman also obtained a Masters of Law Degree in Taxation from the University of Miami in 1981.

This is a really good question. Overall I think that they do an outstanding job. IRS processes millions of returns every year and most of them go through the system without a hitch.. . For the people that file returns and don't go out of their way to cheat, but sometimes forget things that others have reported to the IRS

I have a durable power of attorney, photo copies of all I. D.'s, Medication list of her current meds., Living Will, DNRO, and Medical Surrogate Form. First of all your brother needs a legal advocate that is here in the States that can defend his interests and assets!! You have 2 options: 1 Hire a lawyer (Big Bucks) or 2 have your brother sign a Power of Attorney, appointing you the power. Once he has done that (you can mail him the document have him sign and return it to you via mail) you will have the Power to sign his name, make phone calls etc. just as he were here himself. It appears that the money is already gone, and I would guess spent. He is not eligible for an annulment, so dont waist your time there. He needs to close that account, if he has not done so yet, and establish another account in his name alone. I was able to complete a divorce for a soldier in Iraq, under the same circumstances, only his wife was really really credit card happy. Charging tabs at bars of over $250-$500 a night!!! If he comes home on leave he can go see a lawyer that can draw up the divorce and he can sign it before he goes back, the lawyer will handle the rest. You should be able to appear on his behalf for the rest of the court appearances if you were appointed power of attorney. She sounds like a real piece of work!! What goes around comes around, shell get hers!
