I was sent a letter stating that a position had been filled that I applies for, when I called it had not been?

I have a hypenated last name (my mom and dads last name). . I want to get rid of part of my last name, my dads last name.

I recently changed my full name for personal reasons. . I have a 10 year green card which still has my former married name and has almost 9 years left on the card. . Do I need to change my name on the green card within a certain amount of time or can I wait until I renew or become a citizen?. I can't really afford the $450 filing fee right now so if I don't have to do it immediately it would really help. . I will have a driver's license with my new name shortly so I will have a current name ID.. Also, do I need to change the green card in order to receive a new social security card or is the legal change of name document enough?. I am not divorced and I did not go back to my maiden name.. I live in Virginia and the judge had no opposition to changing my name for personal reasons. He knew I was a British citizen and permanent resident, not citizen, so obviously it is possible for a foreigner to change their name without divorce.

So what she said is not true, your son can get financial aid in the form of student and parent loans with a college savings plan.. . What the lady prob meant was the "free" money may be "kissed goodbye" but not for the reason you would think... (read carefully). . I've been doing this a long time, and it's my experience that those parents who can afford to contribute to a college savings plans for their kids are not poor. In determining need, INCOME is looked at first. Long before assets (like college savings plans) are calculated in to determine if they are poor. So..... even if your son DIDN'T have a college savings plan he most likely STILL wouldn't qualify for the free money based on him and the family not being poor.. . One more thing, never pay for advise or a seminar for financial aid... there are a lot of people out there advertising "guaranteed financial aid" for their services. Most folks assume what you did, and don't realize loans are fin aid as well and think they are paying for something extra. Do your son a favor and put any of that money into his savings plan.. . Okay, another thing many kids and parents forget when choosing a school and how much they can afford. He will be attending school FOUR years. So if your son were to go to school tomorrow he needs to realize he can afford to attend a college costing 10K a year....(10K times four years). Most kids don't think that far ahead and would look for a school costing 40K.... not realising they'd have to come up with that much again and again and again. Even parents seem to forget this as well.... . Better him be a college graduate at a school you and he can afford than a 1 year dropout from a private school he can't.. . Hope this helps!!!
