  • Erin M. Zielinski graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, cum laude, in 1999. She then attended St. Louis University School of Law where she received her law degree in 2002. While attending law school, Ms. Zielinski clerked for a prominent family law firm in Clayton, Missouri where her career in family law officially began.

Upon obtaining her law license, Ms. Zielinski worked as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the St. Louis City Circuit Attorney's Office where she prosecuted non-custodial parents in both civil and criminal cases for non-compliance with child support orders and child support laws. In her four years as a prosecutor, Ms. Zielinski was a champion at managing hundreds of cases while creating and implementing new protocols for handling each case both in and out of the court room. Ms. Zielinski was a zealous advocate for both the custodial parents and their children in obtaining the child support they deserved. Her attention to detail and preparation for each and every case earned her the 2006 St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Justice Award for Achievement in Outstanding Results.

After four years as a prosecutor, Ms. Zielinski transitioned from public service to private practice where she continued her focus in family law. While in private practice, Ms. Zielinski has established herself as an attorney who will work with each client and navigate them through the often emotionally trying family law case. Ms. Zielinski not only builds a relationship with each client, the clients know they can trust her to work tirelessly on their behalf to get them the results they want and deserve.

Now, with a twelve year career devoted solely to family law, Ms. Zielinski has gained valuable experience handling complex financial issues regularly apparent in a divorce case as well as the emotional, and often complicated, issues surrounding custodial matters. She brought this experience to the Featherston Law Firm when she joined the Firm in January, 2012. Ms. Zielinski is a tremendous asset to the Firm and has established herself with each client as a patient and compassionate listener who will work with them and walk them through the often tumultuous process of a family law case.

Ms. Zielinski co-authored “Motion Practice Before Trial”, a chapter in the Missouri Family Law Continuing Legal Education Desk Book as well as various supplements to this chapter.

  • When You Need a Dedicated Advocate

At my law office in St. Louis, Missouri, I work diligently to provide my clients with the quality legal representation and highly personalized service they require. I believe that it is important for anyone who is facing criminal charges to have a strong and caring advocate who is dedicated to aggressively defending his or her rights.

    Personal Service

I work closely with my clients to provide the accessible and responsive representation they need. I take time to listen to my clients, answer their questions, return their calls promptly and keep them informed about the status of their case.

    Proactive and Aggressive Representation

I believe that a strong offense is often the best defense. When I represent clients in criminal cases, I take time to investigate the facts of their cases, understand their goals and put together a defense strategy with their needs in mind.

While I represent many clients who have already been charged with a crime, one thing that makes my practice unique is that I also represent a number of clients who feel they may have become the target of a criminal investigation. From the onset of such cases, it is my objective to provide as much damage control as possible.

To do so, I may obtain notarized statements from possible witnesses or talk to the police on behalf of my client. Where possible, I explore the possibility of expunging my client's arrest record.

It is my objective in such cases to help my clients avoid criminal charges. When attaining this goal is not possible, however, I work diligently to raise a strong defense on their behalf.

    I Can Help

I go into every case with the belief that I can make a positive difference in my client's case. A lot of times people think their case is hopeless because they have made incriminating statements or because the evidence seems to be stacked against them. Even in cases that initially seem bleak, there are a variety of ways that I can help.

    Helping Clients Make Informed Decisions

Before you choose to enter into any plea agreement or before you determine that you want to fight your charges at trial, I will take time to talk to you, answer your questions and help you understand your options. I will help you understand the nature of your charges, the penalties you could face if convicted and the details of any plea offer that you are considering.

I believe that an informed client is an empowered client. Keeping my clients informed and involved is just one of the ways that I help my clients take charge of their situation.
