  • Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale is a full service immigration and nationality law firm founded by Marc Van Der Hout in 1980. Offices are currently located in San Francisco and Palo Alto, California. The firm has developed a national reputation for work in a broad variety of immigration-related cases, ranging from family and employer sponsored visa matters to removal, naturalization, asylum and refugee issues. It has litigated many cases of national significance in the federal courts and is nationally renowned for taking on and winning difficult cases.

The lawyers at Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale offer expertise in complex removal cases as well as employer sponsored immigration, including securing visas for professional, executive and managerial personnel, and obtaining labor certifications leading to permanent residence. The firm represents a wide range of clients in employment-based applications including: corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships, and other businesses; entrepreneurs, professional athletes, college professors, journalists, engineering and scientific professionals, restaurant chefs and domestic employees. In addition, clients include United States citizens and their foreign national spouses, foreign nationals in removal and exclusion proceedings, students and scholars, and permanent residents seeking United States citizenship.

    RESPONSIVENESS AND SENSITIVITY TO CLIENTS:

Immigration law involves constant interaction with government authorities and reaction to ever-changing laws and policies. While attorneys control the immigration process to the maximum extent possible, there are sometimes delays and changes which are unavoidable. Such delays and changes are understandably frustrating to foreign nationals not familiar with our laws. At Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale, our goal is to minimize such frustration and uncertainty by advising clients promptly of any changes in the law that may affect their cases, taking prompt and appropriate action including in federal court when necessary, being available to respond to clients' inquiries, and remaining sensitive to cultural diversity.

    ETHICAL REPRESENTATION:

Many immigration related cases call for decisions requiring not only legal analysis, but also considerations of professional responsibility and ethics. While maintaining a business-oriented and balanced perspective toward the practice of immigration law, Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale does not use legal "shortcuts" that, in the short-term, may benefit or expedite a particular case, but in the long-term would likely compromise the reputation of the firm and its clients. Further, in employment cases, the firm remains sensitive to issues of dual representation posed in its role as attorney for both the employer and the employee. When potential conflicts of interest arise, Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale has a policy of complete disclosure and resolution of issues.

    PROVEN EXPERTISE:

Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale enjoys a sterling reputation with the U.S. government. We have developed a network of colleagues throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia, who can assist us with problems should they arise outside of the United States. We also have personal contact with many government officials. While we have rarely had to call upon such contacts, they are an invaluable resource if a problem or issue should ever arise.

    CLIENT SATISFACTION:

Client satisfaction is of utmost importance to Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale. We believe our clients' major concerns and priorities are:

Availability of attorneys and staff to answer case-related questions; Approvals on cases in a timely manner; Representation meeting the highest legal and ethical standards; Reasonable attorneys' fees.

At Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale, we are committed to these priorities and to the continuous improvement of our legal services. We look forward to discussing your immigration-related concerns with you and to assisting you in any way we can.

No free health care is different than health care for all.... . Tax payers shouldn't be held responsible for those who can take care of themselves, but don't or chose not to in life.. . Also have you heard the negatives about health care for all in other countries? Here is an example. Right now if I need to go to my doctor, I can call at 8 in the morning and make an appointment for noon. With health care for all, you call to make an appointment and HOPE you can be seen in two weeks. Anyone with a sick child is pretty screwed.. . But, I think that health care for seniors and children should be made very affordable.
