As a female, I have do say I would swoon if a guy sent me letters! . I had a good friend I used to send letters and cards to and I prayed he would send one back, but he never did. . The art of letter writing is often lost in our world of technology. But there is nothing more masculine than accepting your emotions and being comfortable enough to express them in an appropriate fashion.. My mum has still kept the letters my dad sent her when they first started dating.

However, I really want to be a cohesive family unit, and would hate to feel disconnected from my husband/children because I have a different last name. I don't think making up a new name is even an option for us.. . Any ideas or suggestions.. Thank you Tracey.. it's good to hear from someone who's been there.. I personally do not know a single woman who HASN'T changed her name.. so I have no one to give that viewpoint....and I understand the whole older relatives thing.. I'm still trying to convince his great Aunts they don't need to bring "cheese straws" to the catered reception :). . dsds.. you're a douche.. but I think everyone already knew that.. . Also, neither my FH or I condone divorce... not to say that things could NEVER end up that way.. but we come from in-tact families.. and do not look at divorce as an option, except for extreme cases.. Also, he is a professional where I have my 4 year degree.. but haven't really gotten "off the ground" with my career yet, so I understand that it would be easier for me to change my name.. but it's still upsetting to me that people just assume that come December, I'll no longer be a "so-and-so". Or that I'll become Mrs. His first name Last name.. that REALLY bothers me!!. I know that it is my "father's" name.. but it's also mine.. it was given to me at birth.. I was this name my first day of kindergarten, the day I graduated college, and it's just a little sad to let go of it.. I don't consider it my "family" name, I consider it "MY" name.... I never asked for a ring.. and actually made him get a smaller one than he had originally planned on. I also want ( & am planning) a really small wedding... I'm not the platinum wedding type...

Allied Interstate keeps calling my house, three or four times a day. I returned the phone call, to see what it was regarding. They told me I had to make a payment over the phone with a debit or credit card or check. I told them I do not do that kind of thing over the phone and I need a letter validating the debt, I would like to see it on paper. It isn't a stall tactic, but I don't recall ever getting any letters from this company. I asked to simply send me a letter, he said that it is a stall tactic and that he refuses to send me a letter, he said everything is done over the phone. I told him I am not comfortable with this. He said they already sent out a letter, I explained I am not the only one living here and I did not receive it. I wanted the letter so I could actually see what he was talking about. I refuse to give out my information on the phone. He then told me that if I don't like it that I can call Verizon (who the debt is supposedly through) myself. When you call them, they'll just end up telling me that they sold my information to the collection agency. So, was I wrong here? I did not admit nor decline the debt, all I wanted was written proof so I could take it from there.. What is "SOL"?. Thank you echo =].
