Any money you spend to provide perks to your employees to make your company a more favorable place to work is a business expense for you. Anything you give to employees as a perk, including non-cash items such as iPods, must be reported as taxable income to them. So if you hand each of them an iPod worth $400, you have to add $400 of "other income" on their W-2 form and they have to report an extra $400 of income on their 1040 tax return form. In this scenario I'm assuming you just give it to them as a gift and let them do what they want (take it home, sell it if they don't want it, whatever they choose).

I am trying to start a photography business and just began work on my online portfolio. I did my very first shoot with 2 models that I do not know. The shoot was for a friend's clothing line so he could use these photos on his website and I could use them for my portfolio. I know NOW that this was stupid stupid stupid but neither of us had the girls sign a model release form. I just recently read that depending on the circumstances I may or may not have needed one. So now these girls are saying that he may not use their photos for his site (they did not mention me). For my friend, I know, he's screwed, but I only wanted to use them for my online portfolio. I will eventually be using that portfolio to sell MYSELF as a photographer but not the actual photos of these girls. Am I able to use them without a release?. . PS... I will be getting a release signed no matter what, from now on just to be sure.. By the way... these girls did NOT get a copy of the photos because they contain my friends logo and since they are not allowing him to use the photos he is not giving them copies... I cannot give them copies because I do not have any rights to his logo..

Hi, I had just open a small company as contractor for general works like home/ office renovation. Will like to know if once the renovation works are done, are we required to let our clients sign on any form to show that the job is done so as to avoid any disagreement in the future.. If it is necessary, will appreciate if anyone can show me the template/ sample as I had sourced through the internet but can't find anything suitable. I managed to find a couple of them but are quite complicated and detailed which I think might not be suitable for a small company like mine... Thank you...
