Civil Litigation: involves a lawsuit resulting from a dispute between private parties (individuals or corporations)

Before I knew about all the laws that protect consumers, I agreed (over the phone) to pay a collection agency a per month payment. After a while I noticed the interest didn't match up. I asked over the phone how they calculated it and they couldn't answer. I decided with a payment I'd send them a debt verification letter. About 4 days after they got my letter (certified), I got a letter for the same account from another creditor. The agency sold my account. I sent the new agency a letter as well, without a payment nor would I agree to anything over the phone. To date, I have not heard back from either creditors and its well past 30 days. I'm now getting nasty phone calls from an attorney's credit collections office. I wouldn't agree to anything over the phone and told them to send me something in writing. They told me they have and would not send anything more. Since they left a reference number on my voicemail, was I doing the right thing by sending them the same letter to?.

has anyone had a refund form lloyds/tsb?and i have sent my second letter to the bank over 7 days ago, stating that i wanted a reply within 7 days how long should i leave it and if i still hear nothing what should i do then any help would be great.

ok so I was always good at english at school and I'm always writing little poems and stories and everyone tells me I should write a book so now that I've left school I've begun to write a proper book but I have so many questions!!! First of all, should I be typing it on the computer and savibg it on to a floppy disk? then do i print it out and send to publishers just the way it comes out of the printer on the a4 size paper? like how does it get from that to the soze you find it in books? im confused and I'm wondering am I wasting my time by typing it all out now.

I'm applying for a job as a graduate insurance underwriter, however I'm really stuck writing a cover letter.?

Recently divorced, I got sole residency of the marital house till it sells according to the property settlement agreement. House is under contract with a willing and able buyer but my X has disappeared, well, at least she not answering any phone calls. Now, her Mom (where she was staying) is not answering either. The realtor and attorney need her for signatures. What can I do? Can I get a judge to give power of attorney to someone else to get the sale moved along to closing? What about her stuff that she never came to pick up?.
