  • Tracy J. Hermann, Esq. is an experienced litigator focusing on Family Law, Immigration Law, Collections and Bankruptcy.

Tracy frequently represents clients in divorce, custody, child support and visitation matters. Tracy’s greatest strength is her ability to listen to her client’s needs. She recognizes the sensitive nature of family court matters, and will work to resolve a case, whenever possible, in order to minimize a client’s emotional and financial suffering. However, she is prepared to aggressively represent a client in court, when a legal battle is necessary.

Tracy represents clients in various immigration matters including visa applications, adjustment of status, citizenship/naturalization, lawful permanent residence (green card), alien relative petitions, and removal of conditional permanent resident status.

Tracy's representation of both debtors and creditors gives her a complete understanding of insolvency issues.

Among her educational achievements, Tracy attended Boston University in Boston, MA, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Tracy later attended Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, RI as an honors scholar, where she received a Juris Doctorate in 2006.

While in law school, Tracy worked for Chief Justice Suttell of the Rhode Island Supreme Court, during which she performed legal research and writing on complex evidentiary issues, assisted in drafting an opinion on post-conviction relief based on statutory interpretation of immigration warnings and assisted in drafting a dissent on the issue of spoliation.

Litigation

I'm just curious but id like to know what is the average cost to change your name and identity. Including the cost to print out what your new name in the news paper, and cost to certify documents for the court..

Your real estate lender or bank should have the form. You need your signature and his on the power of attorney document stating that you take care of his affairs. You need to have it notarized. Usually the power of attorney is only for a short time unless it is a durable power of attorney that is permanent. Usually banks will only honor their own Power of Attorney document. So be sure to ask the real estate lender will they honor the one you get from the bank. Be sure to get one and sign it from the entity that will honor it.

The best advice I can give you is visit first, and take a good look around. Call some real estate agents. Look up actual realtors, as there are a lot of "listing agencies" that are nothing more than criminals with office space who will try to get you to sign up with them. Take a look at some apartments for rent and even for sale so you can get an idea of what you'll get for any given amount of money. Make sure you can line up a job that will pay the kind of money you need. Just remember, people from all over the US and from many other parts of the world move to NY every year, and they will all be competing with you for jobs and apartments. It's not easy, but it's doable.

Is there a "Please Do Resuscitate" form I can fill out?
