My partner and I are in the middle of applying for a mortgage, so we both decided to view our credit reports on line. I was totally shocked to discover a big fat 8 on my report from a company called Cabot Financial. They filed the default in Feb of this year. I contacted them and they said they were acting for Barclay Card. I had a card with them 5 years ago, and as far as I was aware I paid everything off and destroyed the card, if I owed them anything it was under ?100. Ive since moved house twice since then. Yet on my report Cabot are stating Im ?1400 in default. . Barclay card state they no longer have records on my account as it was passed on. Im aware there is a template of a letter to send to them asking to see my original credit agreement, does anyone know how I can go about this? . Can I insist this is taken off my credit report? . Who do I dispute the default with? . And how long will this take?. Ive been so careful with my money and bills this last five years and to see this is a complete kick in the teeth. Especially now I need to apply for a mortgage... Any advice would be great thank you..

My advisor advised me to take New Testament and Art Appreciation as courses for the summer. When I registered for New Testament I was unsure about the class. I asked my advisor if it would challenge my religion beliefs and she said no. So I went on with the class. I found the class very difficult. Specially trying to learn and understand a new religion. The class assignments were to read the bible, which I have never done regarding my religion. This made it very difficult for me to understand the course. I tried to drop the class on time. But didn?t meet the deadline since the deadline is shorter then a regular semester. I met with the instructor before and after class to try to obtain a satisfactory grade. But since the summer semester is shorter than a regular semester, I didn?t have time to accomplish this. Also, I was working two jobs during the summer a total of 63 hours a week to help support my household. My mother is currently unemployed at the moment so I?m supporting our family at the time. My desire is to be able to continue my education at Butler and I have made a plan that will help me greatly improve. However, I will not be able to do so without financial aid. The earnings from my job, which I had planned to help pay for schooling expenses, are being used to help out in our household's economic crisis. Without finical aid I will be obligated to drop out of school since I cannot afford it at the moment. All I need is an opportunity and I guarantee you I will be in good standing next semester. Please take this letter into consideration and allow me the chance to prove my dedication to the educative process and to putting forth my best effort by reinstating my financial aid. I have sole custody of my daughter. Her father shows no interest in her at all. He only visits her once a year and has not pressed for visitation rights.
