I was born in Britain and was bought up here all my life. I am Chinese, and I am now 17 years old and will be turning 18 soon (it is incredibly easy to change your name in the UK) and as you can imagine I have a Chinese surname.. . I was thinking of having my surname changed to something Western, as I was brought up here I have nothing which I can relate to being Chinese other than my race. Everything I do is Western, the food I eat, the music/movies I watch, how I act etc. I can't even speak Chinese.. and I hate people stereotyping me when they hear my surname. To be fair, people mistake me for Southern European as I don't have the "typical" Chinese/East Asian features.. . Surprisingly, my Dad was okay with the idea, so I'm still undivided

I was recently married in the state of Iowa (same-gender marriage is legal there) but now live in TX. My name on my marriage certificate was legally changed to my wife's but I did not change my DL or SS card before we left and now I am wondering if I will be able to legally change my name on my Texas documents with my Iowa marriage certificate.
