Your former employer probably filled in a blank on a form and said "dissatisfaction with wages," not the Unemployment office people. You need to appeal that decision, take as much ammunition with you or have it ready when you speak by phone. Also, prepare a set of statements to be signed by your co-workers over the years, have their signatures notarized, and be prepared to offer copies of these to the hearing officer when your phone appeal is heard. The particulars of what happened that day (the day you left) are probably not as important as the fact that you were a 14 year employee who faced a "hostile work environment" and were forced into quitting. Do not say that you quit voluntarily! Say that you were forced into quitting and that you may have filled out a resignation form, but you did not sign it because you knew you were just emotional from not having any sleep and that you wanted some time to reconsider. If I grant POA for personal care to someone with the additional provisions such as Do Not Resuscitate and no experimental drugs in the event I become incapacitated, are these provisions binding? Or could my appointed attorney potentially disregard my wishes because I've basically granted them the ultimate decision making power? For example, if my attorney didn't agree with my DNR decision, could they decide against it? I guess what I'm asking is whether my provisions are merely suggestions and that obviously the person I appoint as my attorney would hopefully abide by those wishes. Or are they legally bound to do as I've outlined ie. pull the plug? Not that I think any of that is going to happen but just wanted to be clear about the limitations of the personal care POA.
