My family wish to change our surname by Deed Poll. However, I am wondering if we will come up against unexpected problems as I am thinking about things such as "frozen" pension schemes with former employers in our current name, qualifications from years ago, national insurance, references from former employers that will be in the old name, etc, etc. Has anyone else come up against a problem they had not envisaged due to changing their surname and how did you overcome it?.

I read this great book called 'Novel Proposal', and it explained everything I need to know about writing query letters, synopsis, etc, and one of the things the author said was to never just mail a letter to a publishing agency without an editor's name. So I was just wondering, how to I get this editors name?. . Do I just call up the publishing agency and ask around? Do I look online? Do I need to speak with the editor first before I mail it addressed to him/her?. . Thanks for any advice. :).

nouns, verbs, adjectives and even entire sentences can vary depending on this.

Why is it always "cease AND desist?" Why not just one or the other?

I graduated from highschool June 2011 and I'm taking this year off. I applied to universities for Fall 2012. One of the universities asked me to send them a letter outlining my activities through out this year. How should I format the letter? Like where should I put the address, student number, and how should i end it? Should I put my address on the letter as well? And is it okay if at the end I write 'If you have any more questions or require any information feel free to contact me' or is that going to sound weird?! I don't have alot of experience with writing letters so I REALLY need help!.
