However, the rules of professional ethics are quite clear that a lawyer does not personally adopt his client's position. Think about it: a lawyer may not personally adopt the views espoused by a member of NAMBLA or the Black Panther's or the KKK, but that is certainly no barrier to representation. Lawyers advocate for their clients - which is totally distinct from agreeing with their personal philosophies or condoning their actions.
