If you are out of the collecting SOL, try sending a dispute to the CRA's (credit bureaus) that they are reporting on before sending AFS a validation letter.. . If AFS verifys, you might want to send the unknown debt letter and after they respond or 35 days, whichever comes first, send the SOL letter (if you are out of the collecting SOL). . Arrow is currently being sued by the Illinois AG for illegal practices in debt collecting- yay.

When you sit down with an attorney to negotiate representation it is the attorney's obligation to fully disclose all aspects of the fee agreement with you before starting the attorney-client relationship. Typically, an attorney cannot ethically just stop working on a case if the retainer is used up, the rules of ethics forbid a lawyer from doing so (this doesn't mean all lawyers abide by the rules, that's just what is required). Sounds like a stupid question, but I need an official letter with stamp of some sort that would prove that I reside in New Jersey, USA. I need to send it to Europe to my dad so he does not have to pay taxes for my name. I don't pay taxes yet so I don't have any tax forms or anything like that.
