A valid question!. . What I do is this..... . If I can fit it all on one screen, without the recipient having to scroll down, then always email. Indeed, all business correspondence should be concise and to the point.. . If the message requires much detail, say a pitch, proposal or a technical report, then that I attach. Yet not always as a wordprocessed file but preferably as a .pdf one. If, however, there may be a requirement for the recipient to expand on my document, then I instead do it in 'Word' format. And if there's a simple password I actually provide that to them in the email.. . To conclude, keep it concise, direct and modular.
