I've been a photographer for a long time, but have just recently thought about starting my own business. This may sound silly, but any sessions that I have done in the past were for friends and family, and not charged. So to make sure I'm doing this all right and to protect myself and my clients, in the event of a portrait session for example...do I also need to require a model release? Or is that only used when posting a call for a project I myself am doing? Also what about minors, like with family sessions. Does the standard portrait agreement/model release cover minors as well, or do I need to obtain a special release? I'm just not quite sure when certain forms are needed. Thank you, and I appreciate the help on this..
