• Jacob Houston Hargett was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana and is now a proud husband and father. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he received his B.A. in 2004, and went on to receive his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2006.? Thereafter, he attended Loyola University College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate.

  While attending Loyola, Mr. Hargett served as the President of Loyola's Trial Advocacy Program and was a member of the Loyola Trial Advocacy National Team.?   Mr. Hargett is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys participating in clay target competitions. In college he was a multiple time All-American and went on to win the College World Championships in skeet shooting. Mr. Hargett also matched the individual world record in skeet by shooting a perfect 400 out of 400 targets in the 12 gauge, 20 gauge, 28 gauge and 410. He also tied the two-man team world record with a total score of 800 out of 800 targets. Currently, Mr. Hargett and his two-man team partner hold the high all around world record by shooting a total of 999 targets out of 1,000.

My husband and I have lived tight for a few years now, and have racked up 10K in credit card debt. Dave Ramsey is very popular...he suggests starting with your lowest balanced card and paying it off first, then "snowballing" that money after the smaller cards are paid off to begin paying off the bigger ones. Which makes sense. He also says that by paying off the smaller ones it empowers you and gives you a feeling of accomplishment. Then, I've read you should ignore your balances and pay off the cards with the higher interest rate first as they obviously are costing you more money in fees. Not sure what is best, any suggestions from anyone out there who is/has done the same thing?.

I'm not an attorney so I'm just offering a suggestion here.. . I hope your husband really wants a job performing the type of work he will be doing.. . I hope that the letter of recommendation is worth it's weight in gold because a year's worth of unpaid work had better be compensated in some form.. . You could try to put something in the letter that will give you both an out: such as I look forward to committing to you for a position for a year and will continue in this capacity as long as we both find the arrangement to our liking. Something like that should satisfy both your husband and the doctor.
