In most states if there is no medical power of attorney and it is time to decide care they all have to agree or else the hospital/nursing home will appoint a court mediator to try to resolve it and if that doesnt work then you go to court. If she gave your dad power of attorney over finacial then chances are he would stand the best chance as she has already said she trsuts him to make decisions for her. Also at the nursing home they will have one person as the main contact and that is the first person they will call for an emergency. Your dad needs to go to the home and have a sit down with the socal service director and see what his options are and what steps need to be taken.

Should it be formatted just as a snail mail letter (content, length)?
