A marriage effects your surname, not your middle name. However, you can petition the courts to change or remove your middle name. It really has nothing to do with getting married.

Is there a reliable local nanny service or locator in the DC area or are the national, online...?

all your assets will come into to play. SSI is a welfare program and as such you must financially qualify and be completely disabled and unable to work anywhere. SSI is not given out to people who have a partial impairment. BUT SSI is immediately given to premature infants and people with terminal diseases with no hope of recovery. some people with diabetes attempt to collect SSI and get mad when they don't get it, but diabetes does not prevent someone from working anywhere. they may not be able to stand for long periods but they can sit. etc. and in some cases a permanent disability is not disputed but because a family may be over the financial requirement they may not get it. as was the case of my friend whose daughter has down syndrome, she was denied because she makes too much money to qualifye. My mother works for the SSA so she was helping me with her case. you should appeal your case and retry. also, when someone officially opens a request, that request is opened by SSA and refered back to the state, the state is the one that makes the final determination because that SSI will be coming from the state. the STATE and not SSA makes the final determination. you should reapply or appeal and don't be discouraged if they say no, appeal again-this time asking for an ALJ(administrative law judge) to review the case and make the final determination. hope it works out for you. and always remember that if GOD brought you to it-HE will get you through it! :)

You and Joe sound like a good couple but its the family thats the problem you say. Well if I were you I would first talk to Joes dad. One on One. The father is always the first one to talk to because they can convience the mom a lot of the time. You need to tell the father how much you love joe and how much he loves you. Tell him that no matter what you and joe will stick together like glue. That you want you and him to be friends or at least mutual. Tell him that you want to get to know him because it seems that things aren't working out. That you know how religious they are but to put the diffrences aside and get along. Tell him that their is no sense in having a war between you all and that you love joe as much as he does. Put your own spin on things and tell him that you want to be more of an friend than an enemy and you want to hang out and go places if possible. If your lucky he will agree to partially liking you and talk to the mother. The father can always talk the mother into doing things. Then tell Joe to alk ad do the same thing with variations. Hope this helped out. Also if the father doesn't want to to try your best to talk to the mother.
