  • A native of the coal fields of Eastern Kentucky, Ryan believes that to whom much is given, much is required. Ryan was taught by his father, a prosecutor and Baptist preacher, to practice humility, protect the vulnerable, and to have passion for justice. Ryan joins his father and also his brother, who has served as Floyd County’s Commonwealth’s Attorney since 2000, in believing that juries are the most powerful safeguard against greed, danger, and evil. Ryan chose to focus his legal practice in the civil, rather than the criminal, justice system as a means of making communities safe.

Ryan graduated magna cum laude from Transylvania University, with a degree in English. After graduating from Chase Law School, Ryan worked briefly as a prosecutor before accepting a judicial clerkship with Deputy Chief Justice Will T. Scott and the Supreme Court of Kentucky. At the conclusion of his clerkship, Ryan felt called to enter private practice to represent individuals and families who had been harmed by others. Ryan worked in the Pikeville office of Gary C. Johnson, PSC, for nearly four years and was trained in the firm's innovative personal injury and trial practice. While there, he managed and litigated dozens of personal injury cases from intake to settlement. Ryan obtained a significant jury verdict for a single mother with a special needs child, as reported in the 2012 Kentucky Trial Court Review (Ramey vs. Thacker, et al.).

In 2013, Ryan became a dad to a beautiful little girl and decided it was time to move his family to Northern Kentucky. Ryan's wife, Jordan Dallas Turner, is a practicing attorney and Boone County native.

Ryan's practice at Taliaferro, Carran, & Keys, PLLC, focuses on personal injury and wrongful death litigation and trial practice, including but not limited to: motor vehicle wrecks; tractor trailer wrecks; motorcycle wrecks; defective vehicles and medical devices; premises liability; general negligence; uninsured and underinsured motorist claims; bad faith; medical malpractice; and school injuries.

In his spare time, Ryan has many interests, including gospel and rhythm and blues music, fantasy football, Kentucky basketball, running and weightlifting, scuba diving, golf, spending time with his family and new daughter, and growing in his faith.

Should I write a cover letter for my resume if I am not mailing the resume in? First Job, nothing big.?

I am in the process of starting my own grocery delivery service. I am hoping to build a regular client base, but before that happens I will have a lot of first time and one time users.. . My question is before I perform the shop, should I require the customer to sign an agreement form I've created? The agreement form would be short and simple. Basically going over my policy for payment and returns, etc. Or should I just keep it basic and perform the service, than collect the money and fee, without any paperwork? I'm not sure since I will be grocery shopping on people's behalf and there will be a possibility of large amount of money being spent?.
