  • Tonya Beane Webber's goal as an attorney is to help employers create a work environment that is profitable for the company, manageable for company representatives, and beneficial to the work force. She does this by partnering with clients to establish policies and procedures which establish certainty in the workplace for both management and employees, and by working closely with employers to educate managers and trainers and to equip them to deal with the intricacies of the ever-challenging field of employment law. The bottom line is to build every company she represents into a solid and sought-after employer by working with company officers and human resource specialists to develop the kind of consistency that encourages and retains employees and eliminates disputes that might otherwise develop into complaints or lawsuits. To do this, Tonya draws upon both her knowledge of employment regulations and her experience in trial work.

Tonya is a senior shareholder in the law firm and works primarily from the Corpus Christi, Texas office, but her practice extends to Austin, Houston, Laredo and the Rio Grande Valley. She is licensed in the United States District Court, Southern, Northern and Western Districts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and all the state courts of Texas, with more than fifteen years experience at the trial and appellate level. After joining the firm in 1985, Tonya practiced in both commercial and personal injury litigation, which she has found to be a good bedrock for her employment law practice. She now centers her practice around all aspects of employment law*, including training employees and management, creating and revising policy and safety manuals, advising management in hiring and termination decisions, and representing management in employment-related administrative proceedings and litigation. Tonya also participates in employment law seminars writing and speaking on a wide range of topics.

Tonya holds membership in the Corpus Christi Human Resource Management Association. She is a member of the State Bar College, the Section on Labor and Employment Law, the Texas Bar Foundation, has held office in local bar groups and was a charter board member of the Corpus Christi Lawyer.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Tonya worked as a television anchor/investigative reporter for the ABC affiliate in her hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in radio, television and film. While working full-time in broadcasting, she obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law. Tonya is a longstanding active member of the board of the Ronald McDonald House of Corpus Christi and is active in her church.

Could someone tell me the highest percentage an Executor can charge for a Canadian estate/probated will?. Many thanks in advance..

Im so very sorry for all the pain you have gone thru in your very young life but it does get better and it sounds like you have a great relationship with your mother which is very important in a young girls life. Unfortunately when you are a minor and your father has not given up his rights, he still has some say in your life. I know its very hard but if you can wait till 18 you can go all alone to the courthouse and change your name and start your new life all fresh. I fully understand that a day in the life of a teenager is like a year but your parents would have to go to court and in front of the judge get his rights removed and then by then you would be legal. Good Luck and God Bless

letter of introduction?

SLA, in networking terms, stands for Service Level Agreements. It means that the service provider is committed to providing a specified level of service (usually with respect to network connectivity -- bandwidth, latency, up-time, etc.) and provides financial penalties for failure to meet the SLA.. . If your position requires you to meet customer SLAs, that would be a valid appraisal criteria. If you are an account rep and your accounts are being charged back for failure to meet SLAs, you're not doing your job effectively.
