In brief, my Grandmother recently died and I, along with my Mother and her partner are the will Executors', and I am the sole beneficiary to her entire 'estate'. My grandmother now has two children, and I have, rather reluctantly, verbally agreed on a telephone conversation with my mother to split the estate (money) three-ways. This was not my grandmother's wish as the will indicates and I have now changed my mind and do not want to split the money. The money is now in the bank account of my mother (a named executor) and I would like to know if the verbal agreement would stand in a court of law, should it go that far. My mother has sensed that I have changed my mind and I don't know what to do because every time money is mentioned we end up in raised voices.
