• Stephanie L. Simon is a graduate of Miami University, where she served as Executive Vice President of the Student Body, and Case Western Reserve University School of Law. After graduation from Case Western, Ms. Simon accepted a clerkship at the Eleventh District Court of Appeals. During her time at the Court of Appeals, Ms. Simon worked closely with the court's Appellate Mediator, co-conducting numerous appellate mediations. I have undergone the most abusive,c ruel and violent behavior from my son in law who is a Marine and is using a torture tactic with me to intimidate me from prosecuting him for stealing my inheritance.. I dont know what or how to get my inheritance from him. My parents died in another country and I had an inheritance sent to my daughter's account (his account ) because I did not have a bank acct opened. I opened my acct and my son in law took 3 weeks to send me some of my inheritance but now refuses to send me the rest of it. He is saying lies and a story that I cant conceive how it happened, he says i went into his paypal account (which I didnt) and tha because of it I dont get my inheritance. After I had talked to my daughter and told her I was going to help her finantially so she could have time for herself to rest from two babies'work. I was just giving them money and they stopped taking my phone calls,emails and sent me death wishes. If I contact them I'll get a restraining order. My son in law has never liked me and it seems to me that he had it planned that he would harm me and kick me out of my duaghter's life too. He is applying extreme force against me verbally and he's trained well in Iraq to kill, twice deployed. He wrote to m e that he wants me to die, that I am a horrible hag, bi..., and terrible mother. He has demoralized me beyond repair. HIs mind is warped and his heart is poisoned. He speaks that way too but he is attacxking me straight to my health and its really taking its toll on me. I have a terminal genetic illness which has rendered me severely ill. He even laughs at this fact and tells me to do everybody a favor and to die now, that nothing could bring him a big smile than to see me dead. I reported it to the military at his work in VA but they just said that I'd have to take him to a civil court. I live in California. He is in Virginia/MD area. So Im threatened with restraining order and I dont know what to do to get my inheritance.. yes, what hurts the most is my own daughter's betrayal. Just as I handed her money basically she split and is an accomplice with her husband. I'm sure they dont have my money now. She told me her husband spent his military re-enlisting compensation of 50K in less than a few weeks. . Its actually now not even the money, its the fact that they also threaten me and wish me dead and call me all the names and slap me with false accusations. Its been horrible.. It was war till yesterday when my husband asked me to pls not communicate with them anymore as my son i nlaw on the cell phone was telling him he was going toh ave the last word, and he would send a restraining order.. And to top it all, Im deadly ill, i have Cystic Fibrosis a very complex and very difficult to survive genetic ailment. I cant breathe nor eat, pancreas gone, respiratory system exrtremely compromised. This is how they are trying to get me, my health, so I die.. I meant to say above "I cant breathe without medical equipment and treatments". thank you for yr answers, I am 45yrs old. I hate to say it, but my daughter needs a psychiatrist I am realizing now. She has been awful for years. I never thought I'd have to say this. She is resentful for anything that crosses her mind since she didnt have a normal 'healthy' mom but one who spends most time in hospitals struggling to survive. She resents many things from the past, but I have done my part to heal the wounds from whatever and she keeps punishing me one way or another. She belittles me, talks down to me, ignores me, left home and said the biggest lies against me and cant do enough against me because she is also jealous. Jealous of my husband loving me 100percent since I was 15. She is angry at many things and it feels like she almost chose this guy for a husband to do evil to me at her whims. Im not trying to bash her, but I am playing down all she has done to me for years. Today I sit here with the loss of my mom, deep grief, and my inheritance sabotaged and death wishes from a marine. good grief.. Soozie, thank you very much for yr support.

Do you know which solicitor your mum used? if so go back to them they should have a copy of the change of name deed ( I would assume your mum changed your name by deed poll) this is official but you do need to provide a copy of the deed and will probably need to send your birth certificate as well as a copy of your change of name deed when applying for a passport and for most if not all official paper work you should need to provide this but usually only the once. If you don't know which solicitor your mum went to I'm not really sure how else you could find out you could try other solicitors to see if there is a way they can find out or as a last resort your mum may have had to send a copy of the letter to the child benefits office you might find its worth ringing them as documents like that may still be on file even if archived if that helps but they can't help further the actual letter should have the solicitors name on so that could help too
