• I am John L. Tobin, an experienced attorney handling a range of residential purchase and sales cases. With my law firm based in Charlestown, I am able to handle cases throughout Eastern Massachusetts, including the Boston area.

  For cases entailing residential purchases and sales, I can represent buyers, sellers or the financial institution. As a real estate broker, I am also able to assist with the actual transaction in addition to the legal work. I also am a notary public and can assist with other types of legal matters, including landlord-tenant matters, simple estate planning and probate administration, business law matters, contracts, civil litigation and administrative proceedings.

  I have been in practice since 1987, and in that time I have handled hundreds of residential real estate purchase and sales cases, as well as numerous condominium developments. As a former assistant district attorney, I was involved in several jury trials, and I won a jury verdict for check fraud by a larcenous bank employee. I've also appeared before administrative law bodies, and successfully sued the Commonwealth to keep skating rinks open for thousands of kids. In addition to my legal activities, I serve as counsel to Massachusetts Hockey, am on the Board of Directors for USA Hockey and am on the Board of Directors of the John F. Kennedy Family Service Center.
