Hi,. . I am a student from Asia, currently studying undergrad in Southern California.. I have frequently undergone copying something like "I understand English ..." at the end of apartment contract (beside signature) or even in agreement while I open my bank account.. Is this a necessary requirement for getting signature from foreign nationale?. What happens if someone did not put such copying requirement?. Was there any law suit regarding to which a signer did not understand the agreement or contract and agreement provider being damaged (property damage I mean)?. . I just recently had my name changed and I know the next step is to change it on my name on my social security but I am a little clueless as to going about doing this. I don't know where to do this at or who to go to. I live in greenville NC and I've tried looking up this information only to end up confusing myself.
